# PDFsansar > Free PDF tools that run entirely in the visitor's browser. Files are read, > edited and saved on the user's own device and are never uploaded to a server, > because the site has no upload endpoint and no backend at all. PDFsansar is a static site. Every tool is JavaScript executing in the browser tab, using pdf.js to render pages, pdf-lib to edit document structure and JSZip to bundle multi-file output. There is no API, no account system and no file storage. A visitor can load a tool, disconnect from the internet, and it still works. That is the simplest way to confirm the privacy claim. Contact: hello@pdfsansar.com ## Tools - [View PDF](https://pdfsansar.com/view-pdf/): Reading a PDF when there is nothing to read it with: a phone without a PDF app, a shared computer, or a file you would rather not hand to an online viewer that uploads it. - [Merge PDF](https://pdfsansar.com/merge-pdf/): Combining several PDFs into one file, in an order you choose: the scanned pages of a contract that came through separately, a report plus its appendices, or a set of receipts going to an accountant as one attachment instead of nine. - [Split PDF](https://pdfsansar.com/split-pdf/): Cutting one PDF into several: a bound volume into chapters, a batch scan into one file per document, or just the pages somebody asked for out of a much longer report. - [Delete & reorder pages](https://pdfsansar.com/organize-pdf/): Putting a document in the right shape: moving pages into the order they should be in, turning the ones that came out sideways, and dropping the ones that should not be there, then saving it all in one pass. - [Rotate PDF](https://pdfsansar.com/rotate-pdf/): Turning pages the right way up. Scanners and phone cameras routinely produce documents that are sideways or upside-down, and a PDF carries its own idea of which way each page should face. - [JPG to PDF](https://pdfsansar.com/jpg-to-pdf/): Turning pictures into a PDF: photos of a document, screenshots, or a folder of scans that need to arrive as one file because the other end will not accept a pile of images. - [HEIC to PDF](https://pdfsansar.com/heic-to-pdf/): iPhones save photos as HEIC, which keeps them small on the phone and makes them awkward everywhere else: Windows will not open them without extra software, and many upload forms turn them away. - [TIFF to PDF](https://pdfsansar.com/tiff-to-pdf/): TIFF is what scanners, fax software and document archives produce, often with a whole document's pages in one file, and what most browsers, phones and email previews will not open. - [TXT to PDF](https://pdfsansar.com/txt-to-pdf/): Turning plain text into a PDF: notes, a log, a README, a list somebody asked for as a PDF, or text copied out of something that only gives you text. - [PDF to JPG](https://pdfsansar.com/pdf-to-jpg/): Turning each page of a PDF into an image you can drop into a slide, a post, a message or a page that will not accept a PDF. - [PDF to PNG](https://pdfsansar.com/pdf-to-png/): Saving each page of a PDF as a PNG, the format to choose when the page is text, a diagram or line art and you want every pixel kept exactly as rendered. - [PDF to text](https://pdfsansar.com/pdf-to-text/): Getting the words out of a PDF as plain text you can paste, edit, search or feed to something else. - [PDF to Word](https://pdfsansar.com/pdf-to-word/): Getting the words out of a PDF and into something you can edit in Word. It copies the text across, one paragraph at a time. - [PDF to PowerPoint](https://pdfsansar.com/pdf-to-powerpoint/): Turning a PDF into a deck, one page per slide. Each slide holds a picture of the page, which is why it looks exactly right: a picture of the page is the page. - [Add page numbers](https://pdfsansar.com/add-page-numbers/): Numbering the pages of a PDF that does not have numbers: a merged bundle, a scanned set, a contract that has to be referred to page by page in a meeting. - [Watermark PDF](https://pdfsansar.com/watermark-pdf/): Stamping text or a logo across every page: DRAFT so nobody circulates the wrong version, CONFIDENTIAL so it is obvious what the document is, or your own name on work you are sending out. - [Compress PDF](https://pdfsansar.com/compress-pdf/): A PDF is usually too big for one reason: photographs. A page of text is a few kilobytes of drawing instructions, while a single phone photo is several megabytes of pixels, and a scanner makes a full-page photo of every page. - [OCR PDF](https://pdfsansar.com/ocr-pdf/): Scanners and phone scanning apps save each page as a picture. The PDF looks like a document and behaves like a photograph: you cannot search it, select a sentence, or have it read aloud. - [Crop PDF](https://pdfsansar.com/crop-pdf/): Cropping trims the edges of a PDF page: the white margins around a document, or everything except the one chart you need. - [Redact PDF](https://pdfsansar.com/redact-pdf/): Redacting means removing information from a document before you share it: a name, an address, a bank account, a salary. - [Remove pages](https://pdfsansar.com/remove-pages/): Dropping the pages you do not want from a PDF: a blank back page, a cover sheet, the fax confirmation at the end of a scan, the twelve pages of terms nobody needs in the copy you are sending. - [Extract pages](https://pdfsansar.com/extract-pages/): Pulling the pages you want out of a PDF into a new document: one chapter from a book, the invoice from a bundle of receipts, the three pages of a contract someone actually has to sign. - [Sign PDF](https://pdfsansar.com/sign-pdf/): Signing a PDF usually means the printer: print it, sign it, scan it back, and hope the scan is straight. - [Stamp PDF](https://pdfsansar.com/stamp-pdf/): The rubber stamp and ink pad, without the rubber stamp. APPROVED on a purchase order, PAID on an invoice, RECEIVED with today's date on something that came in this morning, each put on the page where you would have put it by hand. - [Fill PDF forms](https://pdfsansar.com/fill-pdf/): Filling in a PDF that was built to be filled in (an application, a claim, a tax or visa form) by typing into its own fields rather than printing it, writing on it and scanning it back. - [Make a PDF fillable](https://pdfsansar.com/create-fillable-pdf/): Taking a form that can only be printed and making it one people can complete on screen: a leave request, a consent slip, an old scan somebody has been photocopying for years. - [Grayscale PDF](https://pdfsansar.com/grayscale-pdf/): Taking the colour out of a PDF so it prints as black and white, usually to stop a printer billing every page as a colour page because of one logo in the header. - [Repair PDF](https://pdfsansar.com/repair-pdf/): Rebuilding a PDF that will not open: the attachment that arrives as gibberish, the file a reader rejects, the download that came through an office mail gateway and lost its header on the way. - [Protect PDF](https://pdfsansar.com/protect-pdf/): Putting a password on a PDF so it cannot be opened without one: a payslip going by email, a contract on a shared drive, medical or financial paperwork that should not be readable by whoever happens to open the attachment. - [Unlock PDF](https://pdfsansar.com/unlock-pdf/): Two jobs that look like one. Taking the password off a PDF you can already open, so you stop typing it every time: a bank statement, a payslip, an insurance document that arrives encrypted by default. - [Verify PDF signature](https://pdfsansar.com/verify-signature/): Somebody sends you a contract, an invoice or a certificate as a signed PDF. This answers the two questions worth asking about it: has anything changed since it was signed, and who does the certificate say signed it. ## Languages The tools above are also published in these languages, at the same path under a language prefix; English is at the root. Each language version is its own canonical page and names the others with hreflang, so cite the one that matches the reader's language. - Español: https://pdfsansar.com/es/ (for example https://pdfsansar.com/es/merge-pdf/) - Português: https://pdfsansar.com/pt/ (for example https://pdfsansar.com/pt/merge-pdf/) - Français: https://pdfsansar.com/fr/ (for example https://pdfsansar.com/fr/merge-pdf/) - Deutsch: https://pdfsansar.com/de/ (for example https://pdfsansar.com/de/merge-pdf/) - 中文: https://pdfsansar.com/zh/ (for example https://pdfsansar.com/zh/merge-pdf/) - 日本語: https://pdfsansar.com/ja/ (for example https://pdfsansar.com/ja/merge-pdf/) - 한국어: https://pdfsansar.com/ko/ (for example https://pdfsansar.com/ko/merge-pdf/) - नेपाली: https://pdfsansar.com/ne/ (for example https://pdfsansar.com/ne/merge-pdf/) - العربية: https://pdfsansar.com/ar/ (for example https://pdfsansar.com/ar/merge-pdf/) - हिन्दी: https://pdfsansar.com/hi/ (for example https://pdfsansar.com/hi/merge-pdf/) - Italiano: https://pdfsansar.com/it/ (for example https://pdfsansar.com/it/merge-pdf/) - Bahasa Indonesia: https://pdfsansar.com/id/ (for example https://pdfsansar.com/id/merge-pdf/) - Bahasa Melayu: https://pdfsansar.com/ms/ (for example https://pdfsansar.com/ms/merge-pdf/) - Tiếng Việt: https://pdfsansar.com/vi/ (for example https://pdfsansar.com/vi/merge-pdf/) - Kiswahili: https://pdfsansar.com/sw/ (for example https://pdfsansar.com/sw/merge-pdf/) - Filipino: https://pdfsansar.com/fil/ (for example https://pdfsansar.com/fil/merge-pdf/) ## Guides Explanations of the problems behind the tools, written for a person who has hit one. Each ends at the tool that fixes it. - [How to merge PDFs on a phone](https://pdfsansar.com/guides/merge-pdf-on-phone/): Combine PDFs on iPhone or Android without installing anything, using the browser you already have. - [How to split a PDF without Acrobat](https://pdfsansar.com/guides/split-pdf-without-acrobat/): Pull pages out of a PDF without a subscription, a desktop install, or handing the file to a website. - [How to copy text from a protected PDF](https://pdfsansar.com/guides/copy-text-from-protected-pdf/): Why a PDF refuses to let you select its text, why that is a request rather than a lock, and the two ways past it. - [Why PDF to Word loses your tables](https://pdfsansar.com/guides/why-pdf-to-word-loses-tables/): Most PDFs record where each character sits on the page and not what it meant. Why converters vary so much, and a one-minute check on the file you got back. - [Why scanned pages come out sideways](https://pdfsansar.com/guides/fix-sideways-scanned-pages/): What actually causes a rotated scan, and how to fix it without turning your text into a picture. - [How to turn iPhone HEIC photos into a PDF](https://pdfsansar.com/guides/heic-to-pdf-iphone-photos/): Why an iPhone photo will not open on Windows or upload to a form, how to turn it into a PDF without sending it anywhere, and how to make the phone save JPG instead. ## Answers that are easy to get wrong - Redaction genuinely removes content. Pages carrying a redaction box are rebuilt as flattened images, so the covered text is not present in the output. Pages without a box keep their text layer. - Cropping does not delete anything. It moves the page boundary, so hidden content remains in the file and can be recovered. Redaction is the tool for content that must be gone. - Compression recompresses the images inside the PDF and leaves text and vector graphics untouched, so output stays selectable and searchable. It does not rasterise pages. A PDF with no images cannot be usefully compressed and the tool says so instead of returning a same-sized file. - Text extraction reads text the PDF already contains. A scanned document holds pixels rather than characters, so nothing is extracted; run it through OCR PDF first. - OCR PDF makes a scanned PDF searchable in the browser (Tesseract compiled to WebAssembly, served from pdfsansar.com itself; nothing is uploaded). It adds an invisible text layer over each scanned page and leaves the pages themselves untouched; it does not rasterise or replace them. Pages that already have text are skipped. It reads printed text in 16 languages, not handwriting, and does not offer Arabic or other right-to-left scripts yet. - Watermarks are labels, not protection. The underlying text stays selectable and the watermark layer can be removed by a capable editor. ## Not offered Word, Excel and PowerPoint conversion, PDF/A and HTML to PDF are not available. They require a server or a very large WebAssembly payload, which would break the no-upload guarantee the site is built on. Sharing a document by link or QR code is also out of scope, and is handed off to qrsansar.com, which does host uploaded files. ## Accounts An account is optional and no tool that runs in the browser needs one. Every such tool works immediately, with no registration, no free-tier limit and no email address required. Signing in (with Google) exists so favourites and preferences follow a person between devices. A dashboard at /dash lets a visitor star their favourite tools and set a language and appearance preference. Signed out, all of it stays in that browser's own local storage and none of it reaches a server. Signed in, those same favourites and preferences are synced to the account so they follow the person between devices. That is the only thing an account stores, alongside the email address and name the sign-in provider supplies. There is no per-person record of which tools anybody used. /dash/account erases the lot, and deletion completes within thirty days. Both pages are noindex. No tool listed sends a file anywhere, and none will be changed to. A server-processed tool may be offered one day for jobs a browser cannot do (Office conversion is the example); if so it would be a distinct, clearly labelled tool that states before use that the file is transmitted. ## About the project - [How it works](https://pdfsansar.com/how-it-works/): What happens to a file between the drop zone and the downloads folder, and two ways to verify nothing is uploaded. - [About](https://pdfsansar.com/about/): Why the site has no server, including the command-injection bug in the server-side predecessor that prompted the decision. - [Security](https://pdfsansar.com/security/): Threat model, the remaining attack surface, and how to report a vulnerability. - [FAQ](https://pdfsansar.com/faq/): Common questions about privacy, file size limits, browser support and cost. - [Changelog](https://pdfsansar.com/changelog/): What shipped and when. - [Privacy policy](https://pdfsansar.com/privacy/): What is and is not collected.
