How to crop a PDF
- Drop the PDF onto the box above, or press “Choose a PDF file”.
- Choose “Every page the same” or “Page by page”.
- Drag a box over the part of the page you want to keep. Move it or resize it until it is right; everything outside it is dimmed.
- Press “Crop & download”.
What Crop PDF does
Cropping trims the edges of a PDF page: the white margins around a document, or everything except the one chart you need. It works by moving the page boundary that viewers respect, so nothing is redrawn and nothing loses quality.
What it does
- Moves the page box so only the part you drew stays visible
- Applies one crop to the whole document, or a different one per page
- Keeps text selectable and images at full resolution, because nothing is re-rendered
- Reports the size you are keeping in millimetres, so you know what you will get on paper
What it does not do
- Delete what falls outside the crop; it is hidden and can be brought back, so use Redact for anything sensitive
- Make the file meaningfully smaller, since the hidden content is still stored
- Change the content itself in any way

Our sister site QRSansar hosts a document and gives you a short link and a QR code for it. That is handy for WhatsApp, a slide, a poster or a printed handout, and it avoids attachment size limits entirely. You can swap the file later and the link and QR code keep working.
Worth being clear about the difference: that is a hosting service, so your file is uploaded to it. Everything on PDFsansar stays on your device; sharing is the one job that cannot.

Crop PDF: common questions
What does cropping a PDF actually do?
It moves the page boundary. Every PDF page carries a box that says which part of it a viewer should show, and cropping shrinks that box. Nothing is redrawn, so the text and images you keep are bit for bit what they were.
Is the cropped-off content really gone?
No, and this matters. The content outside the crop is hidden, not deleted. It stays in the file and somebody can restore it by widening the box again. That is how every PDF cropper works. If something has to be gone for good, use Redact PDF, which destroys it.
Can I crop one page differently from the rest?
Yes. Switch to page-by-page and each page keeps its own crop. Leave it on the shared setting and one box applies to the whole document, which is what you want for trimming a uniform margin.
Why would I crop a PDF?
Usually to kill wasted margins so the content fills a tablet or e-reader screen, to cut a scanned page down to the document inside it, or to lift one chart out of a report page.
Will cropping make the file smaller?
Barely. The hidden content is still stored, so the saving is negligible. Compress PDF is the tool for size.
