Open a PDF and read it in the page, with zoom and a page counter. Nothing is installed and nothing is uploaded: the pages are drawn on this device.

Runs entirely in your browser

Drop a PDF here to read it

Your file stays on this device. Nothing is uploaded.

How to view a PDF online

  1. Drop the PDF onto the box above, or press “Choose a PDF”.
  2. Scroll through the pages. The counter shows which page you are on, and “−” and “+” zoom from 100% to 300%.
  3. To do more with it, pick a tool under “Do this with it”, such as Merge PDF or Compress PDF. The file goes with you, and nothing is uploaded.

What View PDF does

Reading a PDF when there is nothing to read it with: a phone without a PDF app, a shared computer, or a file you would rather not hand to an online viewer that uploads it. The pages open here, drawn by your own browser, and once you have read it every other tool is one tap below.

What it does

  • Shows every page in order, drawn as you scroll so a long document stays light
  • Zooms from 100% to 300% and redraws the pages sharp at each step
  • Says plainly when a file is locked with a password or damaged, and offers the tool that can help
  • Opens JPG and PNG images too

What it does not do

  • Upload the file, or keep it anywhere once you leave the page
  • Let you select or copy text; PDF to text does that
  • Edit, annotate or fill in the document; the other tools here do each of those
  • Search inside the document

Need to send this to someone?

Our sister site QRSansar hosts a document and gives you a short link and a QR code for it. That is handy for WhatsApp, a slide, a poster or a printed handout, and it avoids attachment size limits entirely. You can swap the file later and the link and QR code keep working.

Worth being clear about the difference: that is a hosting service, so your file is uploaded to it. Everything on PDFsansar stays on your device; sharing is the one job that cannot.

View PDF: common questions

Is my PDF uploaded to view it?

No. The pages are drawn by your browser on this device, so the file never travels anywhere. You can switch off your connection after the page loads and it still opens.

Can I zoom in?

Yes. Use the plus and minus buttons to go from 100% up to 300%, and the pages are redrawn sharp at each step. When zoomed in, scroll sideways inside the viewer to see the rest of the page.

Can I select or copy the text?

Not in the viewer, which shows each page as a picture of itself. PDF to text pulls every word out, ready to copy or download.

What about a password-protected PDF?

If the file needs a password to open, the viewer says so and offers Unlock PDF, which opens it once you type the password. A file that only blocks copying or printing opens here as normal.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes, and that is most of what it is for. Install PDFsansar as an app and you can share a PDF into it from your Files app or email, then read it here.
