Terms of use

The agreement

These terms are between you and ICT For Media, which builds and runs PDFsansar at pdfsansar.com. Using the site means you accept them. If you do not, please stop using it.

There is no account to create and nothing to sign. That is deliberate, and it means this page is the whole of the arrangement.

What we provide

A set of free tools for working with PDFs and images. They run inside your browser. We do not receive your files, process them on our systems, or store them, which is explained in full in the privacy policy.

The tools are provided as they are, for free, with no contract for a particular result. We may add tools, change how they work, or withdraw them.

Your files stay yours

You keep every right in the documents you open with these tools. We claim no licence over them, because we never receive them. Nothing in these terms gives us permission to use, copy or look at your content, and we could not act on such permission even if it were granted.

You are responsible for having the right to work with the files you open, and for keeping your own copies. A tool that changes a document does not create a backup of the original for you.

How you may use it

Use the tools for anything lawful, personal or commercial, as often as you like. Please do not:

• Use the site to do something illegal, or to work on material you have no right to.
• Try to break, overload or interfere with the site, or probe it in ways that would affect other visitors.
• Present the site as your own, or resell access to it as if it were your service.
• Strip out or work around anything that funds the site, in ways that misrepresent it to others.

Security researchers are welcome. The security page says how to report something and what testing is fair.

Availability

We would like the site to be up all the time and we do not promise that it will be. It may be unavailable during maintenance, because of a problem at our host, or for reasons outside anyone's control. We may change or discontinue any tool without notice.

Because the tools run in your browser, a page you already have open will usually keep working even if the site itself goes down.

No warranty

The site and the tools are provided as they are and as available, without warranties of any kind, whether stated or implied. That includes any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that a tool will produce a correct or usable result for every document, that it will be free of errors, or that it will be uninterrupted. PDFs vary enormously and some are broken before they reach us. Check the output before you rely on it. The disclaimer goes into this properly.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, ICT For Media is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from your use of the site. That includes lost data, lost profits, lost time, or damage to a document.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to use the site, which is nothing.

Nothing here tries to exclude liability for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be excluded where you live.

Our content and code

The PDFsansar name, the design of the site and the words on it belong to ICT For Media. Please do not copy the site wholesale or pass it off as yours.

The heavy lifting is done by open-source libraries, including pdf.js, pdf-lib and JSZip, each under its own licence and belonging to its own authors. We are grateful for them.

Third parties and ads

The site links to other sites, and the search page carries advertising alongside results from Google. We do not control what is on the other end of a link or inside an ad, and linking to something is not an endorsement of it. Your dealings with an advertiser are between you and them.

Which law applies

PDFsansar is used from all over the world and we do not try to pull you into a court on the other side of it. We do not nominate a governing law or an exclusive jurisdiction in these terms.

Whatever consumer protections and mandatory rules apply where you live continue to apply, and nothing here reduces them. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still stands.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site changes. The date at the top shows when they last moved. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated version.

If something here is unclear, ask us at hello@pdfsansar.com and we will explain it, or reword it if you have found a genuinely confusing bit.
