Sign PDF
Sign a document without printing it. Draw your signature with a finger or a mouse, or use a photo of one, then drag it into place. Your file never leaves this device, and neither does your signature.

How to sign a PDF
- Press “Choose a PDF file”, or drop the PDF you need to sign onto the box above.
- Draw your signature on the pad with your finger or mouse, or choose “Upload an image” to use a picture of it.
- Press the “Put it on page” button, then drag the signature into place and pull a corner to resize it. Use the page strip to sign other pages.
- Press “Sign & download”.
What Sign PDF does
Signing a PDF usually means the printer: print it, sign it, scan it back, and hope the scan is straight. This does the same thing without the paper: you draw the signature once and put it exactly where it goes, at the size you want.
What it does
- Takes a signature drawn with a finger or mouse, or a photo or scan of one you already have
- Trims the image to the ink, so the box you drag and the mark you see are the same thing
- Places it as many times as you like, across as many pages as you like, embedding the image once
- Remembers a signature on this device if you ask it to, so the next document does not start with a blank pad
- Adds it over the page without re-rendering anything, so the document's own text stays selectable
What it does not do
- Produce a cryptographic digital signature with a certificate; this is the equivalent of ink on paper, not a tamper-proof seal
- Tell you whether an electronic signature satisfies your particular contract or jurisdiction
- Remove whatever sits under the signature; it is covered, not deleted, which is what Redact PDF is for
- Fill in interactive form fields, which is a separate job
- Keep a saved signature anywhere but this browser on this device; it does not follow you to your phone, and no account holds it

Need to send this to someone?
Our sister site QRSansar hosts a document and gives you a short link and a QR code for it. That is handy for WhatsApp, a slide, a poster or a printed handout, and it avoids attachment size limits entirely. You can swap the file later and the link and QR code keep working.
Worth being clear about the difference: that is a hosting service, so your file is uploaded to it. Everything on PDFsansar stays on your device; sharing is the one job that cannot.

Sign PDF: common questions
Is a signature added this way legally binding?
That depends entirely on where you are and what the document is, and it is not something a PDF tool can answer for you. What this produces is the electronic equivalent of signing a printout and scanning it back in. That is widely accepted for everyday agreements, and commonly accepted in many places for more than that. What it is not is a cryptographic digital signature, the kind that carries a certificate and proves the file has not been altered since. If a document specifically asks for that, you need a certificate authority, not this.
I saved a signature and now it has gone.
Something on your side cleared it, and there is no copy anywhere else to restore from, because we never had one. The usual cause is clearing browsing data: browsers offer “cookies and other site data” as a single tick, and a saved signature is site data even though it is not a cookie. A private or incognito window throws everything away when you close it. Some browsers also clear storage for sites you have not been back to in a while, or when the device runs short of space. We ask your browser to treat this as worth keeping the moment you press save, and installing PDFsansar as an app makes it more likely to agree, but it is the browser's call rather than ours.
Can I put the same signature on every page?
Yes. Place it on a page, move to the next one and place it again. It is the same image each time, embedded once in the file rather than a dozen times, so signing twelve pages does not make the document twelve times heavier.
Do I have to draw it with a mouse?
No, and a mouse is the worst way to do it. On a phone or tablet your finger works properly. You can also upload a photo or scan of a signature you have already written on paper, which is the better option if you cannot draw with a pointer at all.
Does my signature get stored anywhere?
Only if you press Save on this device. It goes into this browser's own storage and is never sent anywhere, the same as your document. Without that press, the signature lives in the tab while you work and goes when you close it. Anything you did save is listed above the pad with a cross to forget it, and Account Settings has a button that clears the lot. On a shared or work computer, do not save it.
Will it cover up the text underneath?
A signature is placed over the page, so whatever is beneath it is hidden but still in the file. That is what you want for signing on a dotted line. If you need something genuinely removed rather than covered, that is a different job: use Redact PDF.
